Never Lucky Tournaments Ruleset Tournament Rules 1.1 Set Length

Every set will be performed in a best of three format, with Top 8 all being played in a best of five format. Following rules do not change between the two set lengths. 1.2 Set Procedure

  1. Players will select their characters via smash.gg’s built-in functions, therein performing a double blind character pick.
  2. Players will then ban stages from the list of starter stages (see 2.2) given through a P1-P2-P2-P1 format for the first game and after each subsequent match, the winner will ban two stages from the combined list of starter and counterpick stages. Banned stages do not persist throughout the entire set.

1.3 Stage Clause

Stage clause (also known as DSR) is in effect during stage selection, which states that the winner of the previous game may not choose to go to the same stage consecutively.

1.4 Stage Agreement Clause

Players may choose to go to any LEGAL stage at any point during the set. If a non legal stage is chosen, both players may be subject to disqualification.

1.5 Stalling

Making a game or set unplayable or delaying a set is strictly banned and may result in disqualification. This includes multitourneying if it delays the playing of a set by a significant amount, which is at the discretion of the tournament staff.

1.6 Sudden Death

If a game goes to sudden death, the result of the in game sudden death will not determine the match results. The winner is instead decided by percent and stock amount. In the situation that both players have equal stocks and percent, a three minute long tie breaker where both players have one stock is played out to determine the winner.

1.7	Alting

If any player is found to be using an alias or hiding their identity to manipulate seeding will be disqualified unless they inform a tournament organizer prior to registration ending.

1.8 Timers

All sets in the winners bracket of round one will have an eight minute long timer for entrants to check in to their match. For the rest of the winners bracket, all sets will be run with seven minute long timers. All of the losers bracket matches will have five minute long timers.

1.9 Collusion

Any form of bracket manipulation, such as intentionally losing a game or splitting prize money may be instantly disqualified. Tournament organizers reserve the right to deny payout to any entrant found to be guilty of collusion.

1.10 Lag Testing

In the event that there is lag, a player should request a moderator (option found at the bottom of the “chat” section of the set taskbar) and request a lag test. A lag test will first be performed on the one who requested the moderator and then on the other player. A lag test will be done via a one on one match, with no other spectators (if set is being streamed the streamers do not need to leave spectating) and must last at least forty seconds.

If a game is interrupted due to external causes, such as a lan adapter being unplugged, the one at fault for the interruption will forfeit the game. If the player is unable to return quickly they will forfeit the set.

1.12 Player Absence

If a player leaves during a set, they will have three minutes to return before they may be disqualified. This time limit is at the discretion of the tournament organizers.

1.13 Unforeseen Situations

In the event that a situation arises that was not explicitly stated in this ruleset, the outcome is at the ultimate discretion of the tournament staff.

1.14 Mii Fighter Moves

If a player is playing a mii fighter and wishes to change their moveset after a game, the moveset switch is treated as switching characters. If the winner wishes to change the moveset of their mii in this event, they must tell their opponent in chat before selecting their character. If the loser wishes to do so, they do not need to let their opponent know until after they select the mii in smash.gg.
