Registration

Tournament Cap: This tournament is capped at 128 teams. In order to ensure your spot in the tournament, you and your teammate must both be fully registered as a completed team on smash.gg

Roster and Substitutes: No substitute players are allowed for this event. Your roster must contain two players, and your team must compete only with these two players. A player may only compete on exactly one team in this event.

Pro Players: If you were a player in Season 9 of the RLCS or RLRS, you may not pair up with another such player. We encourage you to team with a content creator to help us achieve our charity goals!

Tournament Format

This tournament is a single-elimination competition. All matches, with the exception of semifinals and finals, will be best-of-3 games. The semifinals and finals will be best-of-5 games. There will be no third place match, so there will be two teams tied for fourth place.

Match Procedures

smash.gg instructions: Please consult the smash.gg guide to playing in online tournaments. You must be present on this smash.gg tournament page at the designated start time (6pm Eastern Time on April 10th, 2020). For each match (with the exception of Streamed Matches), you must check in, follow instructions for creating/joining the match, play games, and report your scores (all within smash.gg).

Streamed Matches: If you are contacted by a tournament staff via smash.gg match chat or via Discord and informed that your match will be streamed, then you must wait for their instructions for joining the match and starting the game (joining teams).

Cross-platform: This tournament is open to all platforms. You are required to enable cross-platform play in your Rocket League game settings.

Spectators: Only tournament staff may spectate games

Match settings: You must use the following match settings when creating a match:

- Team Size: 2v2
- Map: DFH Stadium, Mannfield Stadium, or Champions Field
- Bot Difficulty: No Bots
- Mutators: None
- Match Time: 5 minutes
- Joinable By: Name/Password (name and password provided on smash.gg)
- Server: US-East by default, US-West if both teams agree. Please discuss this in your smash.gg match chat

Match Restarts: Unless otherwise stated by a tournament admin, matches are to be played out unless both teams agree to restart. Tournament staff may order a restart of any game at their discretion.

Disqualifications

You may be disqualified from the tournament for any of the following reasons at the discretion of tournament staff (list is not exhaustive):

  • Failure to check in to matches (automatically DQ'd by smash.gg)
  • Failure to communicate in your match chat
  • Failure to create/join match in a timely manner
  • Repeatedly disputing correct scores or repeatedly attempting to report incorrect scores
  • Disrespectful behavior towards players and/or tournament staff

Disqualification means you are ineligible to receive any prizes for the tournament.

All standard controllers, including mouse and keyboard, are legal. Macro functions (e.g., turbo buttons) are not permitted smash.gg assigns teams, higher seed is always orange

Players may not compete using guest accounts. All participants must have a unique and valid Steam, Microsoft® Account, Nintendo Account, or PlayStationTM Network ID, and appropriate access levels to Steam, Xbox LiveTM, NintendoTM Network, or the PlayStationTM Network as applicable.

In the event of a bug or glitch that affects gameplay, the full Match should be played out. If a Team calls for a rematch due to the bug or glitch, they must save the replay and submit it to the Tournament Administrator for review.

Teams may only use Players who are on their roster for a Match. Rosters must contain a minimum of three Players and up to one designated reserve Player who may be used as an alternate. Rosters may also include a manager who does not play in Tournament Matches.

An individual may not simultaneously be part of more than one roster at a time.

Starting line-ups for each Match must be submitted to smash.gg at least 2-hours before the applicable Match. No players changes will be admitted during tournament play, teams must exhaust their entire roster including subs before any such request will be heard. Each team is permitted up to 5 players top be part of their team 3 players and 2 subs.

Tournament Administrators may order a Game or Match restart due to exceptional circumstances, such as if a bug significantly affects a Player’s ability to play or the Game or Match is disrupted by a Force Majeure or other event.
