What Is East Coast Throwdown?

East Coast Throwdown is an annual 2-day Fighting Game Community event & tournament series hosted by the renowned Joe “LI Joe” Ciaramelli, John "SweetJohnnyCage" Gallagher and RVRSL

Hotel Reservations

THE CROWNE PLAZA IS SOLD OUT! We have negotiated a special room block across the street at the La Quinta!

Hotel Shuttle

For attendees staying at La Quinta and those looking to grab a bite somewhere local, we have arranged the following free shuttle service exclusive to ECT guests. Pick ups from the La Quinta will run EVERY HOUR on the HOUR. Guests must be outside of the hotel at passenger pick up zone.

Pro Tours: ECT is a Ranking Event on the Capcom Pro Tour So come get those sweet sweet points! It is also the official Last Chance Qualifier of the Injustice Pro Series! Players already qualified for the IPS finale are not allowed to enter, this is the last chance for everyone else!

Artist Alley: Plenty of local & community artists will be setting up shop at ECT. We’re sure you’ll find something you fancy to take home with you.

Vendors: The venue prefunction area will also be home to some amazing vendors & sponsors. Whether you’re in the market for some gaming merch or free swag, there will be plenty of wares to browse.

Getting There

So you want to go to ECT? Awesome! Then you’ll need to know how to get there…

AIRPORT

Newark Liberty International Airport is the closest airport to the Crowne Plaza Fairfield. Taking an Uber or Lyft will cost between $30 - $40 and take about 35 minutes.

NYC PORT AUTHORITY

For our NYC attendees, you can take the following NJ Transit Bus Routes from Port Authority: 193, 197, 198 and 194 (Saturday only) to the Willowbrook Park & Ride. From there you can call the Crowne Plaza Fairfield Shuttle for a free pick up at (973) 227-9200 between the hours of 7AM - 10PM on weekdays and weekends from 10AM - 6PM on weekends. Uber and Lyft rides from the Willowbrook Mall will only cost $7 for more immediate service.

Rules

GAME RULES

General Game Rules

  • All Games will be played on default settings, unless otherwise noted below
  • All Games are run in Double Elimination style, Larger turnouts will be split up into Pool Play with Double Elimination Rules until a Semifinals such as top 32/16 are whittled down to Top 8 For Finals
  • All Macros available via the in-game controller configuration menu are allowed, Example- Tekken Mapping LP+RP to R1
  • Accidentally pausing the game at any time during a match may force you to forfeit the round (Solely at judge’s discretion if there is a player dispute).
  • If you choose Random Select to pick a character and win the match, you must select that character again
  • You MUST provide your own controller for the events when competing
  • Brook Converters are legal and allowed. We have tested them ourselves without any issues.
  • If you use a PS4 Dualshock or wireless controller of any kind, be sure to disconnect or desync it after every match. Before beginning a match, make sure to delete all Bluetooth devices from said console, failure to do so will be grounds for DQ if another match is interrupted.
  • If you are entered into multiple tournaments that possibly happen at the same time, please notify your pool judges to avoid any DQs
  • Coaching on stage is NOT allowed. The first violation will receive an official warning. The second violation will warrant a DQ at the discretion of a Judge.
  • If you have any issues with the tournament itself or tournament play please find the Tournament Director Walter Padilla during the event
  • Collusion of any kind with your competitors is considered cheating. If the Tournament Director determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.

100% of Game Entry Fees go into their respective Prize Pools.

Percentages below represent the listed player’s cut of an individual game’s prize pool.

Tournaments with 127 competitors or less will pay out to the top 3.
