Welcome to OMEGA II! This is AON Gaming's and Long Island's biggest Super Smash Bros Melee event yet! There's a $1000 pot bonus up for grabs - don't miss your chance to compete alongside the following all-star players:

A: Omega takes place over the span of 2 days, beginning on June 16th and ending on June 17th. Precise start and end times are below.

Q: Where is Omega?

A: Omega takes place at AON Gaming located on Long Island, NY. The exact address is 21 Brandywine Drive Deer Park, NY 11729. This is just a short train ride from the city, as the Deer Park train station drops off a short distance from the venue.

You can find us next to the Kohls Shopping center, right near the Tanger Outlets. Brandywine Drive is directly off of Grand Blvd. We're on the left, kind of towards the middle of the block (which is a dead end). Give us a call if you need help with directions: (631)-392-1616.

Q: What kinds of events will there be at Omega?

A: There will be a Super Smash Bros Melee Singles event and a Super Smash Bros Melee Doubles event. Additionally, a free amateur bracket side event and a Melee Singles crew battle will be orchestrated as budget side events for all to enjoy!

Q: What's the schedule for the tournament? What events take place first?

A: This is a two-day event, so the schedule will be as follows:

Day 1 (Saturday):

10 a.m.: Venue Opens

Noon: Doubles begins

2:30 p.m.: Singles Wave A Pools begins

5:00 p.m.: Singles Wave B Pools begins

7:30 p.m.: Crew Battles

Day 2 (Sunday)

10 a.m.: Venue Opens

Noon: Doubles Top 6

2:30 p.m.: Singles Top 32

4:00 p.m.: Amateur Bracket begins

6 p.m.: Singles Top 8 begins

Q: I'm from out of region... where should I stay for the weekend?

A: We on Long Island welcome all traveling guests to stay with us - gotta have the smash homies stick together. As such, we're working hard on our end to match up people that need housing with LI homies that are offering. In the event discussion you should be able to find a post with more details. Don't be afraid to ask for housing if it's needed, as we have several generous people offering! :)

Q: What kind of controllers are legal? A: All controllers that can be plugged into a Nintendo Gamecube or Nintendo Wii console without the need or use of an external adapter are allowed. Controllers with turbo buttons or impossible combination macros are forbidden. If you have a question concerning the legality of your controller, please feel free to ask in the discussion section of this event page.

Q: What's the prize? A: A 100% cash payout! The cash will be split in a 40% 20% 15% 10% 5% 5% 2.5% 2.5% ratio for first through seventh respectively for any amount of players greater than 100. The players will also receive the following additional pot-bonus prize, in order from first to seventh: $400, $200, $150, $100, $50, $50, $25, $25.

Q: Will the event be streamed? A: Yes, the event will be streamed on our two stream channels: our main channel, http://twitch.tv/aonstreams and our secondary channel, http://twitch.tv/gengame.

Q: Will you have food? Drinks? A: Yes: pizza, among other food, will be available at the venue. We also have an extensive selection of snacks and drinks at our concession stand.

  2. Controllers beyond the wired GameCube controller are allowed at the TO's discretion to ensure as many players are able to participate in the tournament as possible and to broaden the level of competition. This will enable players with various hand or nerve issues to be involved in the community and to participate comfortably.

Will there be an entrants cap for Omega II?

Yes. Due to limits on space, we will be forced to limit total signups to 224 unique entrants. So if you plan on attending, be sure to sign up in advance to avoid getting closed out!
