The Pound series is back to bring you a throwback to the grassroots style tournament with Pound Underground. We believe if you are traveling to spend a weekend playing melee you should be able to do just that, play Melee. And tons of it. Round 1 of pools will be Round Robin ensuring each player gets more tournament matches and we will have at least 32 friendly setups where people can play whoever they want to play, organize side events, etc.

Setup Discount
We will be providing setups but want to make sure we have an abundance so that all can play friendlies. The first 32 setups to register with the discount code pugsetup will receive a $10 refund off of registration!
In order to use this code you must agree to the following: -Setups must be provided on site by 10AM Saturday morning and must remain until Sunday at 4pm. -Setups must not be 20xx and must be able to have UCF loaded onto them -If you use this option and do not bring the setup without letting us know, you will be subject to pay $20 (the $10 back, plus a $10 penalty) to be allowed in the tournament.
As entrant numbers increase we may increase the number of setup discounts. Keep your eyes peeled!

Food & Drink
No outside food or drink is allowed in Xanadu Games or Laurel Park. You can, however, bring an empty water bottle and fill it at the Fountains / the Food Court to stay hydrated. Laurel Park's Food Court also provides free water cups.
Laurel Park provides a variety of food, drinks, and alcohol.

Xanadu Games is located at the Grand Stand Entrance of Laurel Park:
Once you get here and park you want to follow the side walk next to the building until you find the Grand Stand Entrance. The Grand Stand entrance is in between the Carriage Room Entrance and the Club House entrance. DO NOT enter the building through any other entrance. You will get lost. Once you get in walk forward towards the Long-Shots bar and Xanadu Games will be to your left.
DRIVING
You can get to Laurel Park from:
295, 29, 95, 32, 197, 198, & Route 1
So if there is traffic there is probably some way to get around it.

Whiskey Bottom Road
198 is by far the best entrance.
The Route 1 entrances connect to each other and lead to a bumpy road. This road then leads to an underpass which goes under the Marc Train stop and brings you into Laurel Park right at the Grand Stand Entrance. You can check out the Laurel Park Map to get a better understanding
PARKING
There are two places to park. A big lot and a small lot. The small lot is closer to Xanadu Games Grand Stand Entrance but there aren't a lot of spots Get there quick! You can check out the Laurel Park Map to get a better understanding
METRO AND BUSES
The Green Belt Metro is the only Metro that has a bus that drops off near Laurel Park. A Bus takes about 50 minutes and stops off at Town Centre Laurel every hour. This about half mile from Laurel Park.
You can use the Metro Trip Planner to figure out bus times. Buses stop running after 10PM on Weekday 6PM on Weekends and
MARC TRAIN
The The Westbound Camden line of the Marc Train Stops off at Laurel Park 3 times during weekdays. It comes out right in front of the Xanadu Games Grand Stand Entrance. For more info Check out this site. There seem to be plans in the works to make it an official stop but that probably won't come to fruition for the next couple of years. There is also a much more active Marc Train about 15 minutes walking from the track called the "Laurel Train Station"

Stage Striking
Players/teams eliminate stages from the Neutral stage list until there is one stage remaining. The player who strikes first may be determined by RPS (rock, paper, scissors) best of one. The winning player/team strikes the first stage. Then the other player/team strikes two stages. Then the winning player/team strikes one more stage and the remaining stage is used for the first game of the set. Stage Bans: After each game of the set, before counter-picking, the player who won the previous game may ban one stage from the stage list. This rule is not in effect for best-of-5 sets. All stage bans affect both players, meaning players who banned a stage may NOT counter-pick that stage themselves later in the set.
Stage Clause: A player/team may not counter-pick any stage they previously won on during the set, unless agreed upon by the opponent.
Neutral Start: The following ports are to be used when a player/team invokes the neutral start clause. Any necessary port combinations must be enforced by the neutral start invoking player for each different stage throughout the set.
