Welcome to the Ronin Rumble series, brought to you by Geoff The Hero!

We are part of the Grandline Singularity circuit on the East Coast which is led by AheFGC. Check out the circuit's crowdfunding effort on Matcherino!

Here's the breakdown, please read thoroughly:

  • Registration is only allowed from competitors playing from USA, Canada, and Mexico.
  • PS4, Double Elimination, 2/3 games, 3/5 for Winners/Losers/Grand Finals.
  • Check-in for all your matches must be done on Smash.gg. You have 15 minutes each match to check-in. BE SURE TO CHECK IN BEFORE CONTACTING OPPONENT!
  • JOINING THE Ronin Rumble Discord IS A REQUIREMENT TO KEEP IN CONTACT.
  • Streamed on GeoffTheHero via Twitch.

Competitor Responsibilities:

  • READ EVERYTHING IN "RULES" SECTION BELOW THOROUGHLY FOR SPECIFIC DETAILS. Contact admins if you have any questions!
  • Check-in on Smash.gg within 15 minutes of all your matches being made available. (Example: Players must check-in by 1:15 PM [PT] for their first match or risk DQ.)
  • Please change Discord name to their Smash.gg name to make tagging simple.
  • Send GeoffTheHero a PSN friend request. In case you get called on stream, it makes life easy.

Rules

  • IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS AUTHETICATING DISCORD WITH SMASH.GG, PLEASE REMOVE YOUR DISCORD ACCOUNT FROM SMASH.GG AND READD IT. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK PLEASE CONTACT @RONINRUMBLE ON TWITTER. THANKS!
  • Registration is ONLY allowed from competitors playing from USA, Canada, and Mexico.
  • PS4, Double Elimination, 2/3 games. Winners Finals, Losers Finals, and Grand Finals are 3/5. Default game settings, teabagging allowed.
    • Winner of a game must play same character between games, loser of a game may change characters in between games.
    • Stage must be set to RANDOM in lobby.
    • Check-in is ENTIRELY done on Smash.gg. Players have 10 minutes to check into EACH match they must play. PLEASE CHECK IN BEFORE PLAYING OPPONENT TO AVOID AUTO-TIMER DQ. If there are any issues, contact a TO immediately to see if we can help.
    • If player loses a game, they may change characters. Winner may not change characters.
    • Players MUST play on wired connection, no exceptions.
    • Players must be vigilant on the Ronin Rumble Discord during the tournament. We need to run this tournament quickly!
    • In the rare case that players cannot connect to each other, after getting both players to reset their console and modem-- we have to coin flip 2/3 to decide the winner. Sorry! I know it sucks, I can't change PSN's infrastructure.
    • If there any other player disputes occur (ie: whoever takes P1 or P2 lobby player slot), either the TO or a coin flip will determine the solution-- methodology chosen by TO's discretion.
    • Repeat offenders who hold up the tournament flow (including excessive/unnecessary delays, starting streamed matches without waiting for commentators, etc.) will now be counted against you in a manually assigned (1-5) strike fashion. Upon the third strike, player relinquishes their next game. Upon fourth strike, player relinquishes their next match. Upon fifth strike, player is disqualified from tournament. Strikes will NOT be assigned to anyone who makes the rare mistake every once in a while, this rule is only in place to ensure we have a system against negligence.
    • Payout is 50/50 for 1st and 2nd place of the West vs East Coastal Showdown.

Stream Rules:

  • Please change your Discord name to reflect your Smash.gg name AND include your PSN name in brackets. Example: Geoff (PSN: GeoffTheHero)
  • For streamed matches, all active commentators MUST be in the spectator slot before the game begins. If they are not, the game is forfeit, does not count, and both must restart until both commentators are in the slots.

Code of Conduct:

  • All players in Ronin Rumble tournaments are expected to maintain respect for one another and for all tournament staff and spectators. Any player behaving inappropriately, or not competing in compliance with this Code of Conduct, may be immediately disqualified from a tournament and forfeit all potential prizes at the discretion of Geoffcom or the tournament organizer.

    • Inappropriate behavior includes, but is not limited to, the following:
      • Swearing, screaming or threats;
      • Harassment or intimidation of any other player, staff or spectator, either in person or through any online channels;
      • Physical or cyberviolence;
      • Collusion;
      • Cheating of any sort through any means, which may include, without limitation:
        • Aim bots?? And Map hacks?? I guess??? Honestly if you can find out how an aim bot in a fighting game works I'd love to see how that works but they are still illegal
        • “Ghosting” (getting additional information about the game, usually the opponent, from third-party sources like stream viewers or the live audience);
        • Use of any external software that directly tampers with the game software to gain any kind of advantage in the game;
      • Interference with any infrastructure for the tournament, including, but not limited to gaming equipment/hardware, game servers (including the misuse or hacking of game servers) or facilities provided for the tournament;
      • Intentionally delaying, slowing or manipulating gameplay
      • Intentionally disconnecting network cables or attempting to interfere with another player’s connection to the game service through Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) or any other means;
      • Intentionally interrupting network connectivity;
      • Disobeying or showing noticeable or disruptive dissent at the reasonable instructions or requests of Tournament Organizer or staff;
      • Any other known or unknown manner of tampering with gameplay; and
      • Any other type of conduct deemed inappropriate at Geoffcom’s sole discretion.
  • Rules may change at TO's discretion. Please play nice with each other.
