Overview

The Grid is hosting an online, double-elimination, 5v5 Valorant tournament with a prize pot of $500. The first games start at 2 PM CST, and the tournament is limited to the first 16 teams so sign up quick!

Online Operation

All team captains must be in the Tournament voice channel of the Grid discord server 30 minutes before the tournament begins or be disqualified. ( https://discord.gg/8JtPHQpqtQ )

When the tournament begins, a Grid organizer will bring each pair of competing team captains into a private discord call to go over the rules and help set up the match. An organizer may also ask to spectate the game in order to stream it on the Grid Twitch channel (twitch.tv/thegridgamingus).

In the event of an issue, a player may pause the game for any reason, with a maximum of 10 minutes pause time throughout the entire to tournament. All pauses must be reported to the TO.

After a match is completed, both team captains take a screenshot of the match results, and report the scores to a Grid organizer in the discord.

In-Store Operation

All rules for online competition still apply, but all competitors may choose to play their matches in-store for no additional charge. In addition throughout the competition there will be random drawings for snacks, drinks, and a 30-day Grid Membership.

Rules

Matches will be best of one until the final, where it will be best of three.

All games should be played on a central host, if that is not possible and teams cannot agree on the server, then the winner of a coin flip done by TO will host the match.

Games will be default settings and first to 13 rounds.

Fees and Prizing

The cost per player is $10. Teams must have a minimum of 5 players but may have one additional substitution player. The pot is $500 and will be split 70/30 to first and second place. In the situation that fewer than 8 teams have signed up, the tournament may be canceled in which case players will be refunded.
