Players must go into to Special Versus and turn on All-Star mode. Players must then select random character.

Each player has 15 points which they will use to choose five different characters based on the point values shown below.

7 Points: Fox
6 Points: Falco, Marth
5 Points: Sheik, Peach, Jigglypuff
4 Points: Ice Climbers, Captain Falcon
3 Points: Pikachu, Samus, Dr. Mario, Yoshi, Luigi
2 Points: Ganondorf, Mario, Young Link, Donkey Kong, Mr. Game and Watch
1 Point: Link, Roy, Mewtwo, Zelda, Ness, Pichu
0 Points: Bowser, Kirby

Players must select one character worth 5-7 points and four characters worth 0-4 points.

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Super Smash Bros. Melee is the second installment in the Super Smash Bros. series and the follow-up to the Nintendo 64 title. It includes all playable characters from the first game, and also adds characters from franchises such as Fire Emblem, of which no games had been released outside Japan at the time. Super Smash Bros. Melee builds on the first game by adding new gameplay features and playable characters: it's major focus is the multiplayer mode, while still offering a number of single-player modes.
