When does the event start?
  • The event is open to the public on November 24th at 10am MST. Registration ends November 22 at 11:59pm MST. Last minute on-site registration is available on November 24th between 10am-11am, however late registrants will not be seeded. Please register early!

What does the venue fee go towards?
  • ASAPA, EFGC, and ESC are non-profit volunteer run organizations and communities. Venue fees goes directly towards event expenses and supplements future events in the form of more equipment, inventory (including DLCs), guests, and more. If you have any suggestions or guest players you'd like to see, please let us know! Contact Victor "Victra" Ly at gaming@animethon.org
Is there public transit access and/or parking?
  • Paid lot and underground parking is available, as well as free residential parking nearby.
  • Boyle Street Plaza is also walking distance from Churchill LRT Station.
Is there food and drinks?
  • The venue is located downtown and near a number of establishments.
Will you run Super Smash Bros Ultimate when it is released?
  • Yes! We will be replacing Super Smash Bros WiiU in the new year with Super Smash Bros Ultimate. We will have all the set ups ready to go when the time comes! See you in the new year!
Will you include ____ tournaments in the future?
  • Maybe! If the game is popular, we will consider including it into the line up. Please attend local EFGC and ESC events to support your favorite games or build a community if it not yet exists!

Rules

Fighting Games General Rules


  • Players must check in with any bracket TO staff before the bracket starts
  • TO staff reserve the right to DQ late/no-show players
  • Players using wireless pads MUST DESYNC THEIR CONTROLLERS AFTER MATCHES
  • Do not hit the PS Home button on your pad between matches.
  • Please ask TO staff if you are unclear of any rules or procedures.
  • Any player who interrupts a tournament match with their wireless pad will receive a DQ for their next match
  • Brooks convertors are allowed.
  • Cronus Max Plus and Titan One converters are banned.
  • All macros available via the in-game controller configuration menu are allowed.
  • Hardware programmable input entry, rapid-fire, or other hardware assisted mechanisms are strictly forbidden.
  • Players are allowed up to 1 minute between games. Players may call TO staff if the opponent is taking too long.
  • Any player who pauses during a match will receive a loss for that match. If this would be second loss in the set, they forfeit the set.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle


  • Default settings

Dragon Ball Fighter Z

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

  • The Kanzuki Beach and Skies of Honor stages are banned from play. If either stage is randomly selected repeat random stage selection process until a tournament legal stage appears.

Super Smash Bros General Rules


Match Procedure

  • Players select their characters. Either player may choose to Blind Pick. In this case, each player secretly tells a third party their character before picking with the third party verifying their selections
  • Players play Rock-Paper-Scissors. Winner chooses between selecting controller port or first Stage Strike
  • Players take turns removing stages from the Neutral Stages list above based on the results of the previous rule. The first player to strike removes one(1) stage from the list, the second player removes two(2), and the first player then chooses from the remaining two(2) stages
  • The players play the first match of the set
  • Winning player of the preceding match bans a stage from the list of stages, both Neutral and Counter-Pick.
  • The losing player of the preceding match picks a stage for the next match. Cannot choose the stage banned in the previous step, nor a stage they’ve already won on during this set, unless agreed
  • The winning player of the preceding match may choose to change characters
  • The losing player of the preceding match may choose to change their characters
  • The next match is played
  • Repeat steps 5 through 10 for all subsequent matches until the set is complete

Super Smash Bros. Melee General Rules


General Rules

  • Double Elimination

  • Items are disabled
  • Stalling with moves such as Jigglypuff’s Rising Pound or Peach’s Wall Bomber are banned
  • Glitches such as Ice Climber’s Freeze Glitch are banned
  • Pause option is turned off. If left on, accidental pausing mid match will result in forfeit of a stock
  • You may not choose any stage you won on during a set, unless agreed upon by both players
  • A tie is determined by most stocks, and then if still tied, by percentage. If percentage is tied, the match is fully replayed.
  • Playing as Master Hand is banned
  • You may not play on a stage that is not on the stage list

Stage List Neutral Stages:

  • Final Destination
  • Battlefield
  • Yoshi’s Story
  • Dream Land
  • Fountain of Dreams

Players are not allowed to transfer existing Miis to a setup. In the case of doubles, Default Guest Miis should be picked to match the color of the team you are playing on

Notes

  • ¹Treated as Battlefield. If Battlefield is struck/banned, Dream Land 64 is also struck/banned and vice-versa.
  • ²Treated as Final Destination in striking phase. If Final Destination is struck, Omega Stages are struck and vice versa. You may only choose the following Omega Stages: Palutena’s Temple, Suzaku Castle and Wily Castle.
