If both players have fully checked in and a match has not started after 10 minutes, we will DQ the offender who is holding things up. You have weeks to check the rules and how smashgg tourneys work. Hold ups are no good.
The Auto DQ timer is 5 minutes. This means both players must check in for their scheduled match within 5 minutes of the start time (times for each round are located at the top of the bracket). If your opponent does not show up, no need to call a mod. They will be automatically DQd and you will move on
ULTIMATE Naifu Wars #11 rules are here. We'll be using the Frostbite 2020 ruleset.
Matches will be best of 3 until Top 8 of the tourney. Those matches will be best of 5.
Registration ends at 05:00PM ET on the Friday of the tournament. The tournament begins 1 hour later, at 06:00PM ET.
F.A.Q.:
Q: What ruleset will be ran for this tourney?
A: ULTIMATE Naifu Wars #11 rules are here. We'll be using the Frosbite 2020 ruleset.
Q: Can I compete in this tourney and another online/offline tourney at once?
A: Please try not to as it tends to cause delays
Q: How long do these tourneys typically last?
A: These tend to last 5-6 hours but we always try to run them as fast as possible
Q: My opponent has UNPLAYABLE lag, what do I do?
A: We can only promise a reliable speedtest if it's a match that's currently on stream. If the match on stream starts to lag, a player can request a lag test (Nairo may also choose to step in). The lag test will have Nairo use Nerf_0's bot that determines which of the 2 players is experiencing frequent packet loss and the results will be visible on stream. The lagger will then be DQd. For context, Nairo has extremely fast reliable internet (1 gig upload and download) so him hosting wouldn't introduce issues.
For other matches off stream, we cannot reliably test unless another mod happens to be free to help perform the test (which is rare). So matches must be played out without DQ. However, if you have a reputation throughout the tourney of having bad lag or needing frequent lag test requests, you will subject to DQ
Q: My opponent disconnected in the middle of the match!
A: Disconnects will only qualify for a rematch if the issues occur within the first 30 seconds of the game. If the match was already played for more than 30 seconds, then the player who disconnected will forfeit the game. If someone disconnects maliciously, the player who disconnects forfeits the set.
Q: My opponent is telling me to wait because they have something to do.
A: Contact a moderator immediately. We cannot hold up the bracket. If both players have fully checked in and a match has not started after 10 minutes, we will DQ the offender who is holding things up. You have weeks to check the rules and how smashgg tourneys work. Hold ups are no good.
Q: Me and another player both entered but will be sharing 1 Switch to play on. Is this allowed?
A: No. This will hold up the tourney exponentially. One of you would be DQ'd so please don't do this
Q: What if my opponent is having trouble connecting to the internet for some reason?
A: They have 10 minutes to reset their console/router and try everything he can to make things work again. If they cannot fix it, they will forfeit. We can't hold up the bracket.
